Dr. Coughlin came to Reno in 1980 to join the faculty of UNR’s Family Medicine Program. He is a founding member of Reno Family Physicians. He has also been the Medical Director of the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Addiction in Nevada.

Dr. Coughlin is an avid sports fan and an avid reader. He enjoys skiing, tennis and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
